St. George's Anglican Church, Baghdad, Iraq
St. George's is the only Anglican Church in Iraq. Reopened by the "Vicar of Baghdad", the Rev. Canon Andrew White during Saddam Hussein's regime, the Church is led today by Rev. Faiz Jerjeez, the only ordained Iraqi priest. The Church has a food program and provide aid to the needy. The campus houses an elementary school as well as medical and dental clinics. The medical services are provided free of charge and to people of all faiths. Typically, the clinic sees 90-100 patients per day.
